642-821 BCRAN, Building Cisco Remote Access Networks Exam, is a retired exam which was formerly associated with CCNP Cisco Certified Network Professional certification. It’s a 75-90 minutes test which contains 60-70 questions.
 
The 642-821 exam tests candidate’s knowledge and skills in describing, configuring, and implementing comprehensive remote access solutions in the enterprise environment. The topics of the exam are as follows:
 1) describe and implement frame relay
 2) describe and configure PPP in a remote access environment
 3) describe and implement ISDN
 4) describe and implement queuing and compression solutions
 5) describe and configure broadband connectivity
 6) describe and configure a site-to-site VPN and AAA
 7) describe and implement backup connectivity solutions
 
As 642-821 BCRAN is already retired, for candidates who aim at CCNP, there are two paths available for them. They may take 642-901 BSCI, 642-812 BCMSN, 642-825 ISCW, and 642-845 ONT exam. Or they may take 642-892 Composite, 642-825 ISCW, and 642-845 ONT exam.
